Welcome
Join us in October 2010!
I have pleasure in inviting you to the 2nd International Sprayed Sealing Conference to be held in Melbourne on 10-12 October 2010. The theme for the Conference is Sustaining sprayed sealing practice.
The Conference provides an opportunity for practitioners and policy makers to keep abreast of new developments in sprayed seal design, material selection and construction techniques. It will contribute to the continued development of sprayed sealing procedures and technologies which are vital to improving the performance of a significant proportion of the road transport system.
I would welcome your contribution to the Conference either as an author of a paper or delegate and would be pleased to meet you in Melbourne in 2010.

Focus on Practice
Nearly 400 delegates attended the First Sprayed Sealing Conference held in Adelaide in 2008. Many of these were field personnel attending an international conference for the first time.
The feedback was very positive, and delegates suggested that the second conference should focus on practical issues. The organising committee agreed and has developed the program around this concept.
Sessions will include:
-
Case Studies - practitioners reporting on successes and failures
-
Country 'Biggest' Issues - the top sealing countries will talk about what they see as the main sealing issues and what can be done about them
- Hypotheticals - experts from different countries will come up with solutions to difficult design and construction situations
- Research and Development - includes understanding seal behaviour, binders, sealing equipment and design and construction.
Two conferences in one
The Second International Sprayed Sealing Conference will be held immediately prior to the 24th ARRB Conference 13-15 October 2010 to allow delegates to get the most out of their visit to Melbourne. A reduced registration rate applies to delegates attending both Conferences.
